We had twelve canoeists and five kayakers on yesterday’s Canoe Kayak Nova Scotia first monthly outing of the year, from Middle Stewiacke to Stewiacke East. We saw lots of wildlife; including nesting bald eagles, Canada geese, several duck species, kingfishers, spotted sandpipers, and an Atlantic salmon! The water level was low, but we had no problems running the little gravel rapids in the river. The weather was superb, except for the occasional strong headwind….
