Join us for an evening of discussion and information. This evening will host a variety of outdoor recreational providers and personnel from the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre discussing best practices for being prepared when venturing in the outdoors and what actions to take when needing assistance.
If you are a recreational provider operating in the outdoors or an outdoor enthusiast that likes to spend as much time outdoors as possible, you will find this session informative and useful.

Agenda for the evening:
We will begin with a tour of JRCC Halifax (Alternate site) Operations in Windsor Park, complete with computer assisted search planning tools, survival model software, real-time tracking of SAR resources, and global communications equipment. A classroom session will include a presentation of JRCC Halifax and Search and Rescue in Atlantic Canada. We will discuss incidents that have occurred in the past as an educational / lessons learned element. We will discuss personal preparation/training, emergency plans, and group management strategies.
