As a young teenager, my family always took me on disorganized weekend paddling trips to the back country of Kejimkujik. Somehow it stuck, and more recently my partner and I bought our own lightweight modern canoe, and began to take it for further and longer into the wilderness of Nova Scotia. Each trip we embark on brings us new challenges and greater rewards.
There is something special and romantic about being in the peace of the middle of nowhere, where we can see or experience a place that few humans have been to. A trip down a set of rapids brings a thrill that certainly does not hurt either! Our next trip may be one of the great rivers that flow North through Ontario.
