Kejimkujik Seaside Tour by Candlebox Kayaking
This unique, one-way sea kayaking experience from St. Catherines River to Southwest Port Mouton provides stunning views of Kejimkujik National Park Seaside.
On the way, we'll encounter harbour and grey seals. It's also common to see black bears scavenging along the beaches. We often observe Porpoises surfacing in small pods, especially in the Little Port Joli area. This area boasts two of the most beautiful white sand beaches on the south shore (St. Catherines River and Little Port Joli), one of which (Little Port Joil) is only accessible by kayak or motorized boat. We'll make our way amongst the calm waters of Harbour Rocks whose turquoise coloured hues and clear waters provide excellent opportunities to observe the underwater environment. We'll take an hour long break on one of the beaches for lunch and exploration and where guides will interpret life in the intertidal zone. The tour ends back at our meeting place in Southwest Port Mouton.
Please note: as this tour travels amongst exposed headlands, it is subject to be altered due to conditions (sea state). In lieu of a tour of Kejimkujik Seaside, we will tour Port Mouton and it's beautiful white sand beaches and islands. All guests should take note that we will use tandem (double) sea kayaks for this tour. Exceptions may be made if we have an odd numbered group. Only suitable for participants aged 15 years and up.
Meet at Southwest Port Mouton public launch, at 9am. Sea kayak and all paddling gear provided. Immersion clothing (drysuits available to rent for $50/person). Catered lunch and water included. Approximately 6.5hrs.
