Saturday, September 23, 2017 - 10:00am to 4:00pm
When: Sept 23, 10 AM - 4 PM (The paddle will be approximately 6 hours. Depending on weather, water levels and how many times we stop it may be longer.)
Rain date: Sept 30th
Where: St. Mary’s River Access Point 1 to St. Mary’s River Access Point 3. We will meet at access point 1, which is where the Denver Bridge crosses the St Mary’s on the East Branch of the river.
Gear: Everyone is welcome you can bring your own kayak or canoe, or rent one from the Municipal Recreation Department.
Route: The run takes us through Gunns Hole, Mckeens Pool, the Glenelg and Melrose Lakes, Silvers Pool, past the Cochrane Hill Gold Mine and much more. We will be getting out at access point 3 which is just after the Stillwaters begin on the Waternish Road.
Skill Level: There are no water ratings of Class II or above and you will find it mostly a gentle paddle. I would recommend this excursion to intermediate skilled paddlers and above.
