After some prompting from a friend he participated in his first Paddle Canada skills course in 2007. To say that  experience  ignited a passion for sea kayaking would be an understatement. Today he enjoys everything from day and  multi- day trips to surfing at his favourite surf spot:  Point Michaud in Richmond County, Cape Breton.  Allan is a firm believer in skill development taking every opportunity to learn from more experienced kayakers and kayak coaches.  He  is a Level 1 Paddle Canada Coach and has earned a Level 3 Sea Kayak Skill designation.  Right now he is working toward his Level 2 Sea Kayak coaching certification.   

In addition to his passion for paddling, he brings to Canoe Kayak Nova Scotia experience in the private, not- for- profit and social enterprise sectors with a focus on financial management.
