Dan is a long-time volunteer with CKNS doing portage maintenance, and with the Nova Scotia Nature Trust as a Property Guardian. He is also chair of the Otter Ponds Demonstration Forest project in Mooseland NS. Long a fan of maps produced by CKNS, he hopes to expand the map offering and promote their accessibility to the public. Dan retired recently from a science career with the Canadian Defence Research Agency and NATO. He lives in Tangier on Nova Scotia's Eastern Shore.
