Thursday, May 7, 2020 - 9:00am to Tuesday, May 12, 2020 - 4:00pm

Paddle Canada Level 4 Skills

Event Location: West Pubnico

Participants will focus on the skills necessary for leading and managing groups in advanced sea states and tidal conditions with a current exceeding 4 knots. Participants will be exposed to none landing zones, surf beaches, and rescues in advanced sea states. This program is physically demanding and participants must be prepared to paddle for long periods in challenging conditions.

Environments used for this program:

Brier Island – Peter’s Channel and Gull Rock ledge will provide us with the opportunity to develop and demonstrate personal paddling skills in tidal environments. The tidal streams will provide us the environment to work on complex leadership concepts

Cape Sable Island – The island offers large barrier breaches and surf locations.

Tusket Islands – This area is an archipelago of islands littered with small fisherman shanties which boost an amazing history centered around the Acadian culture. Leadership, tidal planning, and tide race places are just a few options for this area.
