Safe Boating Week is held annually in May. This year it is May 21-27th. Leading up to this important week, there is a Search and Rescue educational session for all paddlers. This will be an in-person event, in collaboration with CKNS, the Halifax Joint Rescue and Coordination Centre (JRCC) and Paddle Canada.
Marc Ouellette, the Regional Coordinator for Maritime Search and Rescue from the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Halifax, will be discussing operations, an overview of the search and rescue system, overall statistics, best practices and being prepared when venturing in the outdoors and what actions to take when needing assistance.
If you are a recreational provider operating in the outdoors or a paddling enthusiast, we believe you will find this session informative and useful.
Being equipped with knowledge can save lives.
This presentation is free. However, registration is required:
Location: Halifax Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC), 3242 Watchdog Road, Halifax NS
