Sarah grew up in the Ottawa area where she developed a strong connection with the outdoors from a young age. She has spent the last five years as a sailing instructor by summer and ski racing coach by winter, with any time off spent paddling the Ottawa River. Sarah first fell in love with paddling in Algonquin National Park where she would canoe trip with friends. In the past few years, whitewater kayaking has become her new paddling passion and she has loved discovering the rivers around the Whitewater Region of Ontario, and more recently in Nova Scotia.
Sarah now lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia where she is attending Dalhousie University for Urban Design and Sustainability. She loves sea kayaking along the south shore and kayak surfing at Lawrencetown. One of her main goals is to get more students and youth into the sport as she believes paddling is one of the best ways to experience this beautiful province.
