Beyond the Basic program

This is a comprehensive and fun introduction to ocean paddling. This two-day program will focus on fundamental skills that are necessary to plan a day-long trip in moderate winds less than 15 knots with frequent landing opportunities. Topics will include safety, navigation, equipment, paddling strokes, and rescues. We will focus on different assisted rescues and self-rescue techniques. This program is essential if you plan on paddling on the ocean. Day one will take place on a local lake in HRM and Day two we will head to the ocean to apply the techniques learned on day one.
